JEF SCOTT - Ten Stories (1986)

JEF SCOTT, guitarist and vocalist, had fronted various L.A. area bands during the 80's, most notably his own Jef Scott Group.
At the beginning of the '90s he was the leader of the band THE MEN, which released an album on a major label and spot a minor hit single.

This one (and only?) solo record from 1986 is an extremely rare album, as far I know, only pressed in limited copies as promo, but never released.

Jef's voice is warm and clear, as the whole album, very well produced by Bill Pfordresher (AMBROSIA).
The style is a friendly commercial american rock / AOR (altough I think he's an australian born), plenty of guitar (he was pleased to play everything he wanted), melodic and catchy.
If you like JIMMY DAVIS, TOM DeLUCA, and why not, BILLY CHINNOCK, this is for you.

As said, a rarity, requested by a reader.
Thanx RM for this one! I miss you amigo...

  1. hi. it's my first comment (but not my first visit to your excellent work)
    my question is:
    Jeff Scott... Soto? Isn't he?

Greetings from Spain, home of bands like Hiroshima, Niagara, and actually Hardreams, 91suite, Atlas, Beethoven R.... Do you know them? (except Hiroshima and Hardreams, 'cause I know that you posted... altough Hardreams have a new album on this 2009 and it´s very very marvellous than the first one)

A question, this Jef Scott could be the same as the Jef Scott of the band of Santa Monica THE MEN???

  4. @ Javier:
    Veo que hablas español.
Viejo post este... y me he puesto a investigar.
THE MEN (a quienes no conocia).

  6. This is the same Jef Scott who worked with Daryl Braithwaite and James Reyne. I very much remember him being in Australia to perform/promote Company of Strangers and it was mentioned that he was from the US.
